Inspired by the lemony sweet Italian drink Limoncello, LOFT liqueurs are made in a similar style from the freshest, most flavorful, as-local-as-possible organic fruits and botanicals available.

LOFT Organic Liqueurs was created by Lisa Averbuch to save people from the synthesized flavor and bright neon color of your average apple martini. For drinkers that want real fruit in their cocktails and not the industrial equivalent, Lisa has championed the cause of bringing the world of organic foods into the alcohol industry (yes, she did this for you). With flavors as diverse as lavender, spicy ginger, and lemongrass, LOFT also aspires to broaden the flavors available for cocktails. Now, if you want a tangerine-tini, it will taste like tangerine. And if you want a lavender-tini, the bar's now open. Welcome to LOFT, where your glass is our playground.

What makes LOFT unique

LOFT is the first certified organic liqueur in the United States. Being organic means we produce LOFT without chemical pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, sewage sludge, bioengineering, or ionizing radiation. We don't use any additives, preservatives, artificial coloring or flavorings. The color in your drink is the same color you'd see in nature.

Originally used in Japan for sake and shochu, LOFT uses new “Evolution” technology, a breakthrough process from Evolution Beverages that “ages” wine, tones down the bite of spirits, improves flavor and smoothes texture. We are the first alcoholic beverage in the United States using this technology.

LOFT is sweetened with agave. Agave nectar comes from the same plant that also gives us tequila. There are many reasons we chose organic agave as our primary sweetener. While supplemented with a small amount of organic regular sugar (as required by law), most of that taste on your tongue comes from the cactus.

LOFT supports small farms. We have carefully selected our fruits and botanicals from the local farms that can offer the freshest produce and ship it directly to our distillery.

LOFT uses biodynamically grown produce when possible. What this means is that LOFT fruit is grown in an environment using special preparations that enhance the life of soil, plants, and animals. It is a more sustainable system of agriculture, and produces nutritionally superior and better-tasting fruit.

Green packaging. LOFT's tree-free paper labels are made from bamboo-based paper, biodegradable inks and cardboard cases made from recycled materials.

LOFT is certified Kosher (pareve) by EarthKosher.

The floors of our Emeryville, CA, loft are also made of bamboo.
